Hair.

 The big blow out.

IT all started in New York with the big, candyfloss hair of Marc Jacobs' Seventies disco divas. Now the Seventies style has also arrived in London.
At Felder Felder shows, Nick Irwin from Tigi salons took a new twist on the 'hippy hair' which was oh so popular iin the seventies.Introducing his version "rock and roll hippy hair" which was flat at the roots and wide, with just the right amount of frizzy in the texture at the bottom.
And how to achieve this look,I hear you ask? Fold up your hair in pins, leave to set, brush out and then back-comb the lengths with a Mason & Pearson brush. The bigger the better it would seem, so don't be shy...

Hanlon for Bumble & Bumble added hair-piece upon hair-piece (some coloured in dusky pink or sherbet blue) to add an e

Make-up.

 The final frontier.

At Paris fashion week both Louis Vuitton stole the show with their mind blowing collections on the finishing days of the show. Both had the same fabulous team of stylists to work with hair and makup- Pat McGrath and Guido Palau, the ultimare duo.

Both designers were in favour of the deep burgandy glossy lip (shown left) which Louis Vuitton teamed with a chic version of an updo to complete the look.
This in season look has came on in leaps and bounds and contrasts greatly from the past 'minimalistic look' Whats a better way to welcome in spring/summer 2011 than with a splash of exciting colour, There is an excellet turotial for this look below.

This is similar to the Vuitton style above, on the cover of Vogue, sporting a crimson red lip.

Eyelashes.

Remember when just being blessed with long thick lashes was enough... not anymore. Unless you happen to have feathers and mirrors naturally sprouting from your lash line (in which case i would recommend that you see a qualified Doctor) this season it is all about creating drama to the eyes and more specifically the eyelashes. The most extreme - the better! This is one place where you can really go to town, with crystals, feathers and in some cases pure gold - anything goes!

Jewelery.

Tassels and Fringe.

Chanel, Louis Vuitton, and Dior all seemed to have an Art Deco-meets-'70s moment with the re-imagining of huge, gorgeous tassel earrings and fringe necklaces. We like, and this is one we'll be wearing in the coming months.

HairAccessories.

With the Royal Wedding impending, I wonder, what should I wear on my head? Is a hat too much? is a fascinator too obvious?

Anyway here's some of the coolest styles of head-wear about now.

Plus a couple of illustrations by Adam demonstrating the feather look, the full-on hat look and the artistic/ornamental/oriental look (modeled by Isabella Blow).

My Top 10.

Hair & Makeup Products.

My number 1 product which I use every single day is my trusty foundation by Revlon. As we all do, for years I tried many, many different foundations to suit my skin type which is combination/oliy. I never really found a product tha fully satisfied me untill I decided to try the Revlon Colorstay range, this was a few months ago now and I have never looked back! It gives great coverage and stays on all day and night. If you have a similar skin type then you should definitely give it a go, they also do a normal/dry skin version as well. Boots tend to do good offers accross the Revlon range where you can get 3 products for the price of two, bargain!

Number 2 to go hand and hand with the Colorstay foundation is the powder from the same range. I never used to use two of the same products from the same range before but after discovering the wonderful foundation from the range I decided it was worth my while giving the powder a go. I like a matte complexion and this powder is perfect for this, It goes on smooth and not cakey and lasts, again, all day!

Number 4 is my mascara! its from the Diorshow range and is called Blackout. I actually first tried this product a few years ago after buying it in the duty free at the airport before flying off on holiday and I loved it, but at around £24 a tube, once it ran out I just didn't see it feasible to replace it at the time! But luckily at Christmas time i received it as a gift and was overjoyed! I have been using it ever since and once again it has proved to be great. With a large bristle brush and jet black liquid its a great product! also has very attractive packaging, a little piece of designer glamour even in your make-up bag!

For Number 5 is my eyeliner. This little pot from MAC may look small but its powerfull. This gel based eyeliner is a miraculous creation and with it a little truly does go a long long way. This pot can last you such a long time! I use black every day and its great for the cat-eye type flick I use gliding along the top of the lid with ease and the use of a small MAC 210 precise liner brush, and it stays put all day and all night. You can also use this liner on the water line of your eye like you would with a pencil liner and it also great for the smokey eye smudging technique! An all round good product for £14 a pot, its an investment!

Number 6 is the wonderful falsies! I don't wear them everyday, only at weekends when i'm going out clubbing with friends, they are excellent for add that extra bit of glamour to your look! My favourite pair I have found is "Eyelure naturalites-intense eyelashes 104". They come in at around £5.49 a pair but they last me about 5 or 6 times depending on how well I take care of them. The are really lightweight and comfortable to wear, I actally forver I have them on sometimes! They come with a little tube of glue which is probably one of the best I have used, its easy to apply and sticks really well and lasts!

Number 7 and onto hair products! As with makeup, I have tried many different shampoo brands from the really expensive to the relativly cheap. I have fairly healthy hair but it goes gresey really quickly and this is a bit of an inconvenience! so when Pantene released there new  "Aqua light" range, promising to wash away all residue from hair and just leave it clean and soft, I decided to give it a go as it sounds right up my street. I can safley say this product does exactly what it says on the tin! Leaves your hair clean and fresh, and my hair stays cleaner looking for longer now! it also leaves it really soft and manageable.

Number 8 is a heat defence spray by toni & guy! Most days during the week I just straighten my hair and this can obviously cause damage to your hair so I always use heat protection. A few I have tried before have really weighed my hair down and left it looking greasy, but this product is really good. It comes in a spray form so it doesn't coat the hair, and leaves it soft and shiny, it also smells really nice. It keeps your hair pretty straight during the day, works good for me especially with the unpredictable weather!!

Number 9 is an absoloute life save of a product for me! As I've said I have fairly greasy hair, so one day after washing it doesn't look too good! So this dry shampoo comes to the rescue and gives me hair a new lease of life! its a great guy at about £2.15 and smells great. Don't think I could survive without this!

And finally item number 10!! This is my wonderful hairspray by Rockaholic! I tend to backcomby my hair to ass volume and this hairspray holds it in place great without having to use too much of it! it smells really nice and lasts ages. I got a can for my Christmas as its about £13 and i still have about 3/4s left and thats with using it almost every day! it is a fairly large can but it goes a long way, and even though it is quite pricey compared to other brands I still highly recommend it!

Extravaganza.

As well as being used daily to enhance your natural beauty, makeup can also be an art. It can be made as extravagant as you like, especially for calkwalk shows as the models have to stand out from the crowd with the wow factor. I would like to translate this into my photoshoot and make the make up that little bit special and different. Here are some of the ideas I am going to work with.
